About The Mourning Society
We are a St Louis, Missouri based civilian re-enacting group with a interest in mourning, death culture, spiritualism and funeral customs of the Mid-nineteenth Century through the early Twentieth Century. We sometimes branch out into other topics such as World War I and the St. Louis, MO Women's Suffrage Movement.
The Mourning Society has participated in events at Bellefontaine Cemetery, The Campbell House Museum, the St Louis Public Library, Jefferson Barracks Historic Site and the Missouri History Museum.
If you are a reenactor interested in getting involved in our events as a Suffragist or an 1860’s mourner - please contact us.
