Join the Mourning Society

We are looking for active members who want to help us support historic sites and educate the public about mourning and the funeral customs of the mid-nineteenth century through the early twentieth century.  Roles are available for reenactors and plain-clothed volunteers to:

  • Participate in historical vignettes as a reenactor

  • Give and assist with presentations on topics related to death and mourning

  • Photograph events

  • Work with the public as a tour guide

  • Help with on-site event registration


Members of the Mourning Society of St Louis enjoy the following benefits:
